What is Web 2.0?

What it’s not
  • It’s not a software upgrade.
  • It’s not web 1.0 (a new channel called the Internet for the distribution of traditional content)
What it is
  • It is a marketing term basically that some love and some hate – but is real and here to stay.
  • It’s Rich Internet Applications – Bringing desktop like functionality to the browser.
  • It’s Service Oriented Architectures – Leveraging and broadcasting content and applications to create new media.
  • It’s A Social Web – A conversation rather than a lecture.
